This kit was just what I expected and more. The part swap from the original stock was simple as was the barrel receiver install. This kit give you a serious light weight and compact 10/22.

Outstanding product and beyond easy to install. Well worth the cost. Highly recommended for a survival weapon ..........

Fantastic quality on both items. Lightweight folding stock and 16" barrel that are very functional for a fair price point. Recommended for anyone needing a compact rifle for transportation or otherwise. Have used the takedown barrel and handguard a dozen times and still holds zero very well. Thanks AGP!

When I got the kit I wasn't sure how to install it until I took one good look. Took me all of 5 minutes to install. Terrific upgrade for my 10/22. Also, I ordered the wrong components and the company straightened it out in no time!

Quality of materials (fit, finish, operability): excellent
Ease of install: excellent
Utility: AMAZING - Breaks down to a tiny package
Asthetics: way cool
Only gripe: Stock should lock open and include length of pull adjust, other than that: OUSTANDING!

Precisely machined, some "custom" bull barrels for the 10/22 need tweaking, the trunion fit is off or the ejector groove is off.
AGP nailed it just right, slipped right in, nice and tight, ejector groove perfectly cut so no contact with the sides of the ejector.
Accurate and will easily fit in a 14" laptop case or a Pelican 1500 (my top case on my Tiger885).
As soon as my Form 1 is approved (SBR), I'll definitely be getting the short barrel.
Nice to have a carbine on the road or trail.

Excellent build quality, great design, terrific execution! Couldn't be happier. In a word: Utilitarian. Stainless, Bentz chamber, lightweight. Perfect for storage in a small backpack/bag when hiking and camping. My thanks to AGP for an attractive product this well-made.

The 1:12 twist barrel is a nice midpoint between the 1:9 and 1:16. It does seem to stabilize the 60g rounds at 50y. For those of us who want a slim open sight folding rifle I wish they made the fording stock in a standard stock profile.
The other option they will hopefully ad is a slim-line metal handguard

This will replace my existing survival .take down .22 and is carried in a much smaller bag.

One of the best purchased I have made in a long time. I only wish this were made in other calibers.

I ordered this kit with a folding stock and 6 inch aluminum hand guard a while ago, and it is of excellent quality. It is much nicer than the Ruger 10/22 takedown rifle, extra money is worth it to get this instead. The only complaint that I have is that the stock should fold the other way, but I can live with it.

Done 3 of these recently and clients are beyond pleased with the results, myself included. Very solid and robust parts that lend themselves to further modification if desired. I moved sling attachment points and added rare earth magnet to the folding stock to better hold it in the folded position. I posted a picture of the first one in camo pattern on the APG FB page. An excellent barrel and the free floating mounting is a definite accuracy improvement too. If you have an old 10/22 and are contemplating a Ruger take-down this is absolutely the way to go for about the same money.

Just got it in. Everything looks great.

Got the kit on Friday and installed it. Shot it on Sunday. Easy to install. Accurate with "trash" ammo. Golden Bullets, some about twelve years old. This kit is light and solidly built. Worth every penny and more. Wish I had known about this kit long ago.

Got my AGP take down kit in two days, I love this gun! Transformed an old beater 10/22 into light beautiful gun, and one ragged hole at 50yds. Taken down it fits in the center console of my pick-up truck! This truly is a great value.

I received my AGP Arms take down kit with the stainless Barrel, Flash Hider and Black Aluminum hand-guard just 3-4 days after placing my order with AGP Arms, and this is after there was a bit of a shipping issue and they had to contact me, as usual, these good folks are lightning fast and provide incredible customer service, I would like to give a personal Thank you to both Kevin and Courtney whom I have communicated with through email and over the phone.
On to the Kit, As usual, every piece in the Take Down System is incredibly well made, flawless in finish, and tight in tolerances. I have observed a substantial tightening of my groups since switching from the factory barrel, and my rifle stays zeroed even after completely taking the rifle down to clean the barrel, Which is a joy by the way, compared to trying to clean a traditional 10/22 barrel still mounted to the receiver.
I would also like to note that the stainless barrel really is a thing of beauty, and along with the stainless KIDD Innovations trigger I run, adds just the right amount of shine to my otherwise blacked out rifle.

The AGP takedown is very solid and well built--highest fit and finish...

this is a very well made product. It is very easy to put together It only took about 10 minutes once i cleaned and lubed the barrel. I have put about 200 rounds through it so far with no issues, Im looking forward to having this setup in my collection for a very long time. one thing that is not mentioned in the product info section is that the stock comes with a quick detach sling mount hole in the stock right behind the folding release button and also one at the very end of the but stock so you can easily mount a sling up to it.

Having converted my breakdown to the AGP folding stock, I wanted to convert my "regular" 10/22 as well. I ordered the dark earth this time, and for whatever reason, the seam on this one was as fine as good be, there was nothing rough anywhere for me to piddle over.
I decided to save a little cash and order the black handguard and uncoated barrel, and paint them myself. It turned out really nice, only time will tell how durable this is.
Doing all this to the 10/22 must have shaved more than two lbs from the original wooden-stocked/wide, flaring barreled gun, which is wonderful for backpacking. My gun now weighs 4 lbs, 1.6 oz without a magazine. It will weigh a bit more with the Burris red dot I will be installing shortly.
Finally, I have to say I like AGP's method of breakdown BETTER than Ruger's I simply didn't know AGP had created their system some time ago, before Ruger. I can't wait to get an old dog of a Ruger for cheap and fix it up with the TakeDownOptions kit. It's a completely new, different gun.
Kudos.

This is so cool... I bought the AGP Take Down Kit and I don't even have a 10/22 to install it on... yet! I do have Ruger's factory 10/22 Takedown so I'll be getting AGP's folding stock for it as well. I'm not easily impressed but this a quality product. I'll be ordering the options I left off my first order, specifically the front and rear sights, and the flash hider.

I was looking for a 22 rifle that Icould stow in my truck, and I already had a 10/22. So I ordered up a kit w/stock, and the 6" aluminum tube. The kit arrived. Upon studying the contents, it's amazing somebody didn't think of doing this sooner. The free float tube was even painted to match (nice). Some things to consider:
1. The 1" buttpad is necessary, it's a short LOP.
2. I've got a 32mm objective scope on it and it needs high or extra-high rings to clear the tube.
It holds zero, will bust clay pigeons @50yds with boring regularity using bulk ammo, and all mags drop free from the stock. Thanks and out

The kit installed easily and fits well. I bought a blemished folding stock to go with the AGP take down kit. The whole package worked as expected. Easy to assemble; easy to take apart. A tip: I like to carry the allen wrenches, small screw drivers, etc. to tighten or adjust optics, etc on my firearms when out on a day of shooting. The top stock tube has a clip-in plug to make a storage area. (The 7" barrrell reporrteedly fits in iit - cool - however, I'm using the 16-1/4" one.) I put my tool kit in a small zip top baggie, ran a small cord loop through the baggie and inserted the cord loop into the tube plug snap. The cord comes out with the plug and I can pull out the small tubes rolled up in the baggie. The small zip up baggie keeps everything together with NO rattle. Summary: I'm glad I got the kit and might get another.

I decided to get this take-down kit after I received my AGP folding stock. I was surprised at how well made the stock was, and I wanted a complete rifle (using my Ruger 10-22 rifle as a donor receiver). When I put barrel adapter into the Ruger receiver, I was pleasantly surprised by how tight the fit was! To make sure I would be able to get it out again without too much trouble, I used just a little bit of anti-seize compound here because the barrel adapter unit holds the barrel at the chamber end and could get really hot. I had ordered the new aluminum fore end grip unit as well and with it installed, the barrel is held tightly in place. I can't wait to shoot this unit to see how well it groups. By the way AGP: a steel barrel protector for the threaded muzzle end would be a nice option!

I wanted a small light weight take down option to replace my aging Browning take down for back packing and boon dock camping. This system works exceptionally well. The barrel has returned to zero after being mounted and removed five times. I definitely think the stainless barrel upgrade is worth it.
