This is a conversion kit to make a Takedown 10/22® or 22 Charger Takedown out of your fixed barrel Ruger® 10/22® or fixed barrel Charger. This kit will NOT work on a Factory Ruger 10/22 Takedown® model rifle or Charger.

The heart of this system is our custom stainless 16" 1:12 twist barrel that is ¾ lb lighter than factory and threaded 1/2-28 to add your favorite muzzle device. The barrel works hand-in-hand with our quick release, return to zero adaptor. This system is engineered so no tools are needed to remove or re-install the barrel in just seconds, and with a front iron sight installed it will remain sighted in to a receiver mounted optic.

We have many options you can add:

The stock is a push button latch, right side folding assembly. Constructed from injection molded glass filled Nylon, it's very strong while being super lightweight. With the barrel removed, the folded stock/receiver assembly is very compact at under 11" long. Everything can easily fit into any backpack, duffel bag, small RV cabinet, boat, bush plane, daypack, kayak, under a seat, in a spare tire well, etc. The possibilities are endless.

The length when folded with the 16" barrel is 24.75

Standard parts before options include:

16" Stainless Threaded Barrel
7.25" Stainless Threaded Barrel (This is to be used on a Charger 22 with a brace or an SBR)
Quick release barrel takedown adapter
Knurled nut instead of handguard

    Excellent quality

Posted by Ron on 27th May 2016

Precisely machined, some "custom" bull barrels for the 10/22 need tweaking, the trunion fit is off or the ejector groove is off. AGP nailed it just right, slipped right in, nice and tight, ejector groove perfectly cut so no contact with the sides of the ejector. Accurate and will easily fit in a 14" laptop case or a Pelican 1500 (my top case on my Tiger885). As soon as my Form 1 is approved (SBR), I'll definitely be getting the short barrel. Nice to have a carbine on the road or trail.

    Outstanding!

Excellent build quality, great design, terrific execution! Couldn't be happier. In a word: Utilitarian. Stainless, Bentz chamber, lightweight. Perfect for storage in a small backpack/bag when hiking and camping. My thanks to AGP for an attractive product this well-made.

I love this kit but wish they made a straight stock version

The 1:12 twist barrel is a nice midpoint between the 1:9 and 1:16. It does seem to stabilize the 60g rounds at 50y. For those of us who want a slim open sight folding rifle I wish they made the fording stock in a standard stock profile. The other option they will hopefully ad is a slim-line metal handguard

One of the best purchased I have made in a long time. I only wish this were made in other calibers.

    Great Kit

Posted by Chase on 25th Feb 2014

I ordered this kit with a folding stock and 6 inch aluminum hand guard a while ago, and it is of excellent quality. It is much nicer than the Ruger 10/22 takedown rifle, extra money is worth it to get this instead. The only complaint that I have is that the stock should fold the other way, but I can live with it.

    Solid, Great value

Posted by Attention to Detail on 15th Jan 2014

Done 3 of these recently and clients are beyond pleased with the results, myself included. Very solid and robust parts that lend themselves to further modification if desired. I moved sling attachment points and added rare earth magnet to the folding stock to better hold it in the folded position. I posted a picture of the first one in camo pattern on the APG FB page. An excellent barrel and the free floating mounting is a definite accuracy improvement too. If you have an old 10/22 and are contemplating a Ruger take-down this is absolutely the way to go for about the same money.
