This is AGP Arms' latest product designed specifically for the factory Ruger Takedown 10/22. Until now, you were required to keep your original handguard when using the AGP Arms folding stock kit. We now have a handguard that matches perfectly to the latest version of our folding stock kit.
The handguard section installs easily to the factory barrel with one screw. We offer a Quick Disconnect socket standard on the bottom front of the handguard to allow a sling or quick detach mount for accessories such as a bipod or foregrip. Additionally, we offer optional Picatinny Rail attachments for the handguard with seven slots to allow standard flashlight, red dot, and other accessories.
If you have purchased one of our folding stock kits over the past two years, this will be a great addition to your already awesome takedown rifle. Or if you are interested in mounting accessories to your Ruger Takedown and you are not interested in our folding stock kit, you can purchase this separately. This handguard was designed to work with the AGP stock so alignment may not be perfect with other stocks including the factory stock. See pictures showing this handguard with the factory stock.
We can machine this handguard to fit with factory bull barrel and the aftermarket .920 barrels on the market. Add the billet T block and mount this handguard to a standard non-takedown 10/22.
Handguard length is 7"
Handguard is constructed with Glass Filled Nylon
NOTE: BILLET T BLOCK OPTIONS ARE OUT OF STOCK

It's great to be able to run tapered barrels in addition to .920 barrels on the AGP takedown stock.

Standard Barrel 10/22 with Billet T-Block Handguard
Please understand that I write this review from wanting to build an ultra lightweight setup. For me this handguard is astonishingly heavy, perhaps too thick in certain areas. It's bombpoof and solid feeling. For us lighter weight folks, maybe a 'Gen II Handguard' could shave ounces off this design and still have substantial material in critical areas. The handguard is rock solid and so hefty I got tired just looking at it. For most people it adds weight/balance in places it needs it most. So again not a bad thing it's heavy. If you decide to do this handguard, T-Block billet adapter, and 2 picatinny rails you will have added well over a pound to your rifle's weight. While not ideal for my intentions needs, this is an excellent handguard for 95% of people's needs
If you have a standard (non take-down) 10/22 it's disappointing to see full price on this handguard. Takedown Handguards are nearly half the cost at the time of this writing. Again if you (AGP) choose NOT make a 'full' solid one-piece stock (therfore necessitating that we purchase this handguard to have a full rifle) then please don't penalize us on the price simply becasue we own a 'standard' 10/22
I like the look of AGP products and on paper or priced separately they are very eye-catching. When you sit down ad add up what you need to have a 'full' stock on your 'standard' rifle it can get a little crazy; folding stock+handguard+T Block adapter+1" recoil pad+two picatinny rails. You can quickly approach retail price of an entire new 10/22. Still not sure why they don't do a 'full' stock for 'standard' rifle, even at $120 it would be worthwhile; purpose-built, ounces lighter, and not just some bolted-on adaption to also please the 'standard' rifle owners. You need between 3-6 'parts' from AGP to have a full stock the way you want it if you have a 'standard' rifle.
Overall rating still 4/5

I liked everything about the new fore end, I had purchased the folding stock a year or so earlier so it looks complete. the original Ruger fore-end didn't mate well with the folding stock profile. My only beef is the price, even on sale it seems a little $$$ but I like the finished look and am glad I went this route.

This review is an update to my original review. I mentioned they should add a picatinny rail on the bottom for a bipod and support contacted me to tell me they sell a Harris style bipod mount. I ordered one from AGP Arms and then shopped on Amazon for a Harris bipod. I'm impressed at how strong it is. I prefer this style over having another rail on the forearm to keep the rail as small as possible. I'm very happy with the mount and recommend it if you want to mount a bipod on the forearm.
